How we work
Editorial standards
Immigration rules decide whether people can build a life in Canada, so a wrong page has real costs. This is how we research, check and update the guides and articles on this site.

Who
Who writes and reviews
Content is published by the Jacinth Immigration Canada team. Jacinth Immigration Canada is led by a Regulated Canadian Immigration Consultant (RCIC), licensed by the College of Immigration and Citizenship Consultants. Anyone can check a consultant’s licence on the CICC public register; ask us for the licence number.
Articles are researched and drafted with AI assistance, working only from the primary sources listed below. An article shows the label “Reviewed by a licensed RCIC” only once our licensed consultant has checked it. Guides that combine official data with our own explanations are reviewed by the consultant when their copy is written or changed.
Sources
Primary sources only
Every rule, threshold and date must come from an official source. We use:
- Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (canada.ca and ircc.canada.ca), including program pages, operational instructions and visa office checklists
- Provincial and territorial government immigration sites for nominee programs
- Employment and Social Development Canada and the Job Bank for occupations, wages and outlooks
- Statistics Canada for the National Occupational Classification
- Justice Laws for the text of the Act and Regulations
We do not rely on law-firm or consultant blogs, recruiters, education agents, news aggregators or forums. If a claim cannot be confirmed on a primary source, we leave it out. Articles end with a note naming the official pages used and the date they were checked.
Data
How figures stay current
- Express Entry rounds
- Imported from IRCC every day
- IRCC processing times
- Imported from IRCC every week
- Occupation wages
- Imported from the Job Bank wage dataset every month
- IRCC news
- Imported every day and summarised
- Provincial nominee streams
- Checked by hand against each province’s own pages; every stream page shows the date it was last verified
Figures carry a source line with the date they were imported.
Limits
What our content is not
Our guides explain the rules; they are not advice on your own case. Eligibility depends on details a general page cannot see. No one can guarantee an outcome: decisions are made by IRCC and the provinces.
We do not publish fee quotes or processing promises in our guides. Government processing times are shown only as IRCC’s own published estimates, with their date.
