About the skills immigration: health authority
A direct route for health workers that skips the registration pool entirely: eligible candidates apply straight away rather than waiting to be invited. Like the Skilled Worker stream, it offers the Express Entry option.
Applying from outside Canada: Open from abroad, and there is no registration step: with the job offer and the health authority's support you apply directly.

Requirements
What this stream asks for
- A full-time job offer with no end date from a British Columbia health authority, in an occupation on the province's health authority list
- Support from authorised personnel at that health authority, plus an employer declaration form
- The experience, credentials and professional registration the health authority and the province require for the role
- Language at CLB 4 or above
- A wage and income meeting the province's thresholds
Programme
The British Columbia programme right now
Open and drawing regularly. British Columbia refocused the programme in April 2026 around three priorities it calls Care, Build and Innovate, and invitations now name those categories. The Entry Level and Semi-Skilled stream is closed, the technology priority draws ended, and the province has said it will not launch new student streams.

British Columbia has stated it will not launch new student streams, so studying in the province earns extra registration points but is no longer a route of its own.
