How it works
About the skilled worker
Covers jobs in TEER 0 to 3. Your employer submits everything, and bears the costs: the compliance fee, your airfare to Yukon, at least the median wage, health insurance until you qualify for territorial cover, and your return airfare if permanent residence does not come through.
Applying from outside Canada: Eligible from abroad but disadvantaged. No stream requires you to be in Yukon or Canada, and the employer's duty to pay your airfare from your place of residence assumes overseas hires. But with only 282 nominations and time already spent working in Yukon among the ranking priorities, an overseas candidate scores materially lower.

Requirements
What this stream asks for
- A guaranteed, full-time Yukon job offer in TEER 0 to 3
- Twelve months of relevant work experience
- Language at CLB 5 for TEER 2 and 3, or CLB 6 for TEER 0 and 1
- An employer who is a citizen or permanent resident, has operated in Yukon for at least a year, and has advertised the role
Programme
The Yukon programme right now
Both 2026 intake windows have closed. Yukon opened only two: 19 to 30 January and 6 to 17 July, and the final application deadline passed on 26 August 2026. No third window and no 2027 date has been announced. Expressions of interest do not carry over between windows. A public consultation on redesigning the programme closes on 8 October 2026, with changes expected in 2027.
The Yukon Community Program pilot concluded as planned on 30 June 2025. Yukon also states that you do not need to hire an immigration representative to apply, which is worth knowing before anyone charges you for it.
