How it works
About the skilled worker
The province's most open route, and unusually it accepts job offers across every TEER level. No language test is required where the offer is in TEER 0 to 3.
Applying from outside Canada: The clearest route from abroad. Post-graduation work permit holders are excluded and must use another stream.

Requirements
What this stream asks for
- A job offer of at least 30 hours a week and at least a year, from an employer in the province
- Aged between 21 and 59
- Language at CLB 4 only where the offer is in TEER 4 or 5
- Settlement funds
- An ownership stake of no more than ten per cent in the employer
Programme
The Newfoundland and Labrador programme right now
Open and inviting regularly, with the most recent round on 10 September 2026. The province moved to an expression of interest model in February 2025 after demand outstripped the spaces available.
Priority Skills NL no longer appears among the province's current pathways, though no formal closure was announced. Selection is discretionary rather than scored: meeting the criteria does not guarantee an invitation, and the province notes that applications tied to the St John's area may be given lower priority where a route is already heavily used.
