The Alberta Advantage Immigration Program right now
Open, with no structural overhaul. Changes this year have been administrative: a fee to submit a worker expression of interest from April 2026, editable profiles from May, and an extra 200 nominations in August taking the year's allocation to 6,603.
Alberta's only expired streams are the employer-driven and strategic recruitment categories, which ended in 2018. Note that Alberta does not stamp its stream pages with a last-updated date, and one page still refers to priorities for 2024 and early 2025, so treat undated Alberta detail with care.

Candidates already in the federal Express Entry pool whose occupation matches an Alberta priority, including health care, technology, law enforcement, construction, agriculture and aviation.
